How to create a sex menu… And fulfil your delicious fantasies!
Ok what is a sex menu? Am I exploring dinner or desire?
Well if you’re the dinner then both!! A sex menu is personalised list of sexual activities that acts as a basic guide about how you do and don’t like to get down between the sheets (or anywhere else for that matter).
Just because you have a sex menu doesn’t mean you have to share it with anyone. This could simply be a self-discovery exercise for YOU and really figuring out what your ideal sex menu could look like. However, if you’re feeling safe and saucy, you can share this menu with a long term partner, a new lover or even someone you’re chatting up on the dating apps.
Why do I need a sex menu?
Knowing what you want and what your desire is POWERFUL. When you know what you’re into, and what you’re not into, this supports you to have super saucy communication with current and potential partners.
5 reasons a sex menu is awesome. It can help you...
Explore more of what you desire
Know if you’re sexually compatible with someone
Set effective boundaries around what you don’t like
Have effective consent conversations
Discover new areas you desire to try
How do I create a sex menu?
Set aside 15 mins (time it!) and spend 5 mins free flow writing what comes up under each of the headings below. I recommend starting with this free-flow and then following the links to some templates and saucy inspiration of activity.
Some basic headings you can start with:
What I like
What I don’t like
What I would like to try
You can also spice these headings up with your own personal touch! For example:
Things that make me scream yes. Yes. YES!
Things that make me go hell to the nope
Things that make me think mmmm I might be into that
Anything that makes this exercise extra sexy for you is a WIN.
If you need a little extra inspiration...
I found some awesome templates on the web ranging from free form and flowing to really in depth.
Pro tips & where to go for more...
Master Peter shared some pro-tips in this podcast episode about sex menus, he recommends:
Explore you menu solo - so you’re not biased by partners or friends
Be honest - you won’t get your fantasies and desires if you’re not honest about them
Have fun! - exploring fantasies and then things you want to try can feel really exciting, lean into it
If you desire to explore your desires deeper, this is my absolute jam! With many of my clients we work on what it is you desire, how much of it you desire (do you just want a bite, or do you want the whole damn buffet) and then…. how to explore it with confidence!
If this sounds like something you’re into, schedule 30 mins directly into my diary and I’ll help you discover what it is you deeply desire.
